Bill Capati, Dentist and Owner
Dr. Bill started Sugar Creek Family Dental in 2016. Born to Filipino parents, Dr. Bill was born in New Jersey and grew up in Decatur, Illinois. After years and years of tuition, he graduated from Southern Illinois Dental School where he met his beautiful wife, Laura, who is a practicing periodontist. Together they are pround parents of 4 children between the ages of 6 to 14. Now, instead of pub trivia and sports sedans, it’s school sports and minivans. He tries to keep up with today's music, trends, and movies, but his love for the Phillies, fantasy football, dad jokes, and 80’s pop gets in the way.
Alex Hernandez, Associate Dentist
Dr. Alex Hernandez grew up in Indiana and earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University, where he met his wife. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, Dr. Alex enjoys building lasting relationships with patients and helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles. Outside of the office, Dr. Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and their children. Their family also includes a dog, a cat, and two horses. In his free time, he is passionate about Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
Kathy, Office Manager
Kathy has been in the dental field for 32 years beginning as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant before transitioning into her role as Office Manager. Outside of the office, Kathy likes spending time with her 2 children, one of which is serving in the Navy. She is also kept entertained by her 5 cats: Penelope, Camille, Josephine, Butler, and Travis and her daughter's puppy Iris. Kathy enjoys Jazzersize and getting outside to walk daily.
Cindy, Hygienist
Cindy has a Dental Hygiene degree from BCTC in Lexington, KY and a Bachelor of Science degree from BYU. She has been a hygienist for about 10 years and loves helping people enjoy coming to the dentist and encouraging better oral health. She is half latin and speaks Spanish fluently. She has three children, two boys and one girl and a husband of over 20 years. She loves baking, crafting, going to early morning cycling classes at the gym, and playing board and video games with family members.
Brooke, Hygienist
Born and raised in St. Louis, Brooke loves getting to know her patients and helping them feel comfortable during their visits. She is passionate about oral health and enjoys educating patients so they can feel confident in their smiles. In her free time, Brooke enjoys traveling, golfing, spending time with loved ones, and exploring new places around St. Louis.
Danielle, Hygienist
Danielle graduated from STLCC dental hygiene program in 2021. Before becoming a hygienist she was a dental assistant for 10 years. Her favorite part of her job is helping patients feel confident about their smile. Danielle’s hobbies include hanging out with friends, going on hikes, and playing with her dog Oakley.
Sara, Hygienist
Sara graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 2022 with two degrees: Bachelors of Health Science and Associates of Dental Hygiene. Her interest in the dental field came from being in braces for 4 years and all of the technology used to get her smile back! Educating patients on oral health and the connection to the whole body is her favorite part of being a Dental Hygienist! Outside of work, Sara likes to watch STL Blues hockey and spend as much time outside as possible with her dog!
Nejira, Hygienist
Nejira began her dental hygiene career in 2012. She loves seeing patients who have had a life long fear of going to the dentist, finally start to feel at ease when coming in for treatment. She has 3 really cool kids and has been married to her husband since 2014. Her hobbies include traveling, gardening, long coffee dates and spending time with family and friends.
Dani, Dental Assistant
Dani graduated from STLCC Forest Park as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in 2007. Her passion has always been about taking care of patients and making sure they have a great experience every visit. Dani and her husband Ryan have been married for 18 year, have 2 daughters and a crazy boxer puppy, Rylie. In her free time she loves camping with her family, spending time with friends and family and eating Mexican food!
Carrie, Dental Assistant
Carrie has worked as a dental assistant since 2001. Carrie truly enjoys her job and hopes to make patients’ visits as comfortable as possible. She is happily married with 2 boys. She loves the beach, being outside and hiking.
Amy, Dental Assistant and Insurance Coordinator
Amy has been a Dental Assistant for 29 years. She has recently transitioned to Insurance Coordinating. Amy has been happily married for 28 years in which time she has had two children. She enjoys time with her family’s 2 dogs and 2 cats. She likes watching her daughter in competition dance and catching a STL Blues game. Amy’s hobbies include spending time outside camping, swimming, and boating.
Layla, Patient Coordinator
Layla is an experienced Patient Coordinator with nearly four years of dental front office experience. She enjoys providing exceptional patient service and helping create a positive, welcoming experience throughout patient's dental care journey. Born and raised in St. Louis, Layla also spent time living in Washington state. Outside of work, she enjoys relaxing and spending quality time with her four-year-old daughter.
